We turn research into regulatory, social, and technical safeguards for the people most affected by AI and least represented in decisions about it: workers under algorithmic management, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and citizens who lack the literacy to question automated systems.
Tripartite Convergence Model for Human-Centered AI Governance
The Youth AI Future Institute (YAFI) is a student-led research and advocacy institute based in Korea, working on human-centered AI governance. Our work begins from a simple observation: the people most affected by AI systems are often the least represented in how those systems are governed. Korea’s AI Basic Act, in force since January 2026, places duties on AI operators. It does not yet give affected individuals a clear, enforceable right to an explanation, human review, or remedy. Meanwhile, technical design, public understanding, and policy still develop largely in isolation from one another. YAFI works in these gaps. We identify neglected harms through field research and first-person accounts, translate them into concrete policy proposals, and build AI tools and programs that put those protections into practice.

Project HUMANE Korea is a welfare-forward framework/political project for governing artificial intelligence, translating an abstract commitment to human dignity into concrete, implementable law.
It proposes five reforms—from AI literacy mandates to worker protections—designed to keep people, not algorithms, at the center of decisions that shape their lives.

Our founder cooperated with the official South Korean youth Government entity on topics of AI ethics, AI safety and the need for a stronger human-centered AI governance with the recently enforced law "FRAMEWORK ACT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE CREATION OF A FOUNDATION FOR TRUST" mentioning human dignity and social welfare, yet mainly focusing on measures for the industry's continued growth.
